OVERVIEW:
2,000 young leaders from 190+
nations will gather in Tokyo for the One Young World Summit 2022, a worldwide
platform for young leaders. Delegates will present and debate solutions to our
time's most critical concerns alongside top leaders throughout the Summit.
Underemployment and a lack of job
prospects are two of the most pressing socioeconomic and security issues we
face, both of which are exacerbated by the youth bulge that exists in many
nations throughout the world. Youth unemployment can worsen poverty, violent
extremism, political instability, drug misuse, and crime, in addition to its
immediate effects on young people. By helping local entrepreneurs and job
development, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) prioritises improving
young people's chances in a variety of developing nations and unstable states.
One Young World, according to the MFA,
provides a fantastic chance for young people to get active, participate in and
expand on successful initiatives, and connect with other change-makers around
the world. That is why the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs participates with
One Young World to grant scholarships to delegates attending the global Summit
on youth employment for successful and peaceful societies. The initiative's
goals are as follows:
Empowering young leaders to create sustainable
job opportunities in selected regions.
Leveraging the potential of young
people as widely as possible for job creation and highlighting their potential
as a solution to fostering prosperous and peaceful societies.
Raising awareness for youth underemployment
and sharing best practices regarding this subject.
